MARCOPOLO INVESTS IN SAFETY AND ACQUIRES FIRE TRUCK FOR CAXIAS DO SUL UNITS

Vehicle will be used in emergencies at Ana Rech and Planalto Plants

Marcopolo, one of the world leaders in bus body building, invests to set even higher safety standards in its units in Caxias do Sul by purchasing a new fire truck for support in fire risk situations.

The truck was purchased according to technical specifications of the Labor Safety area and the Regional Command of the Fire Department. With a 320 CV engine, the truck has double cab with capacity for 5 firefighters, 8,000 liter tank and 500 liters of LGE (foam-forming liquid – extinguisher agent for flammable products), and 1,000 GPM electronic pump  and monitorial cannon (gallons per minute – approximately 3,700 liters/minute), lighting tower and ladder. The vehicle has also specific equipment for the firefighters, such as breathable air cylinders and specific fire-fighting gear.

The purchase of this modern truck is part of the company's safety investment program, which performs a thorough job in training the Fire Fighting Internal Team. This program includes courses, permanent equipment purchase update and the creation of simulated events to elevate the standards of conduct and action of its 430-member team prepared to handle any emergency situation. The truck will be displayed to the Marcopolo collaborators in Caxias do Sul plants on March 19-20.
