MARCOPOLO PROVIDES TEN VIALE BRS BUSES FOR THE TRANSPORT SYSTEM OF JOINVILLE

New vehicles will provide more safety and comfort for passengers 

Marcopolo has already delivered the 10 new units of the bus Viale BRs for the transport system of Joinville (SC). Operated by Gidion and Transtusa (Transport and Tourism Santo Antonio), the new vehicles will be used for linking central routes with the bus terminals in the city.

According to Paulo Corso, Marcopolo commercial director for the domestic market, companies in the city of Joinville, are renewing their fleets and each one of them has acquired five more buses to the urban transport of passengers. "The new vehicles have 13.4 meters length, which allows higher number of seats and better internal space. The bus upgrading provides more safety and comfort for travelling passengers," explains the executive.

Developed for the use in advanced public transportation systems in large urban centers, the Viale BRS and BRT, whose project took two years of research and development, are amongst the most advanced buses ever built in Brazil. Conceived within unique new concepts of design, ergonomics, comfort, safety and efficiency, the vehicles have the seating capacity to up 79 passengers, 39 sitting and 40 standing. It also features six special seats for the disabled, the elderly and / or pregnant women, an armchair for the obese and wheelchair space.

Another distinguishing feature of the Viale BRS is the largest internal width of the category, which provides more comfort, ergonomics and safety. The configuration of the seats provides the greatest free circulating area inside the vehicle, making travel more convenient and comfortable. The internal height was also increased, allowing the inclusion of efficient air ducts, speakers and ample space for advertising on the upper sides. Viale buses are equipped with Volkswagen chassis 17,280 OT Low Entry (low floor), pneumatic suspension and 280 hp engine.

Robust design, high reliability and excellent cost-benefit ratio; are some of the main attributes of the new Viale buses. Highly recognized by operators and entrepreneurs of the urban passenger transport, the vehicles meet all the requirements needed by the existing transportation systems in the country.
