TURISMO CIVA PURCHASES TEN MARCOPOLO PARADISO 1800 DOUBLE DECKER BUSES

Peruvian company renews its fleet with double decker model

Caxias de Sul (RS), March 25, 2014 - Marcopolo has just supplied ten Paradiso 1800 Double Decker intercity buses to the Civa Group, a leading passenger transport operator in Peru. The new vehicles will be used on national routes in that country.

According to Paulo Corso, Director of Commercial Operations of Marcopolo, the operators have purchased buses with distinctly superior features in order to attract more passengers and boost the already high standard of sophistication and comfort in road transport. "The goal is to provide comfort and convenience comparable to first class international flights and give passengers an even more pleasant and productive trip. The buses have extremely comfortable bed type seats, that recline 150 degrees and are made of viscoelastic foam that molds itself to the body of the passenger," he explains.

With a Scania K 410 6x2*4 chassis, the Marcopolo Paradiso 1800 Double Decker models allotted to Civa can carry 43 passengers. The model has on-board service, with a bar equipped with food and liquid warmers, refrigerator and an exclusive place for the bus attendant.

The Paradiso 1800 DD is outfitted with two toilets, one on each floor, providing greater passenger comfort and convenience. It has sound and video systems, air conditioning, heating and three 15" monitors on the upper floor, as well as a 23" monitor on each floor, for better quality in the playback of DVDs.

Another unique feature of the vehicle is the third steering axle technology, whose benefits include reduced operating costs, by saving on tires and ease of maneuvering curves and corners in cities. This technology permits a smaller turning radius when operating the bus.

For 2014, Marcopolo expects to achieve consolidated net revenues of BRL 3.8 billion (BRL 4.4 billion according to the previous accounting standard), as well as manufacture 20,850 units in Brazil and abroad (33,000 units according to the previous accounting standard).
